Mobile Hotspot

I am having an issue with the Mobile Hotspot feature on my HTC Thunderbolt. When I turn the Mobile Hotspot feature on and it's active, I am unable to locate the device in my wireless network connections on my laptop. The wireless is turned on my laptop and I refresh but it still does not recognize the phone. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have any other smart phones or another labtop you could try to find the signal with? I'm sure it is possible but it sounds very unlikly that the hotspot is not working at all..that would have to be a 1 in a million problem..

Try going into Network Settings, Manage Wireless Networks and add the settings for your mobile hotspot manually...then try connecting to it. You'll need your SSID, Security Type and Pass Phrase as appropriate.
