Texts and phone calls not going trough

I am trying to send texts out but none of them are going through,  I have all my bars and I know the person Im sending the texts to have all their bars (its my husband and he is sitting next to me)  I tried taking the battery out I also tried calling *228 but my calls aren't going through either, which leads me to believe its my [Edited to comply with Terms of Service]

Hi jandbmom,

 

If the problem is still occurring, perhaps ask the one you are trying to text to power off their phone for a full minute and restart it as it will refresh the signal. Also, please try sending a text message to another number to see if it goes through ok. Please note any error messages when attempting to send the text message as this could shed more light on what was occurring at the time.
