Is everbody ready for the big day? I thought I would start out early this year and spread the word first - "Froyo will be released on April 1st, 2011".

it was availbel
too funny
Both samsung and verizon have vowed to treat their fascinate owners with respect, NOT!!!
It will be released before that

well duh, it was only available on feb 29th.
*sigh*
you<reading. it's been out since february 29th.
instead of using your phone, try google.
i'll bet someone can show you a screenshot with it installed
On April 1st (for 24 hours only) you will have a choice to download either:
1 - Froyo (ver 2.2)
2 - Gingerbread (ver 2.3)
3 - Honeycomb (ver 3.0)
All work great on the Fascinate - but be careful - Honeycomb will disable all phone functionality and your Fascinate will swell as if on steroids until it has a 7" , 8.9", or 10" screen! (selected randomly) Once this feature is installed there is no reversing it.
I heard all this from a very reliable Verizon sales person!

I bet at least 100 people can show you screenshots with it installed, at least 10 of which are on this forum, alone. I've had it installed since it was released in february, and right now I'm on the second release of froyo for the verizon samsung fascinate. that's right, not only has froyo been out since february, but it's already on it's first post release update.

Do you mean like this:
Froyo is nice but I've moved onto a new toy. Picture taken with my Fascinate. lol

aaahh gingerbread. {edited to comply with Terms of Service}
No Gingerbread (yet) but at this rate, it'll get 2.3 before the Fascinate gets 2.2. CM7 is on its way though. And I restored my angry birds backup so that should answer you other question.

not that is really "too funny"
This junk?

nice batt life
PJNC284 is this your new HTC Thunderbolt?
Ditto!
gsp10 wrote:Yeah Real good based on how long it's been on stand by and it's on wifi nice try though. Junk
The screen had been on for about 45min which on par or maybe even better than the Fascinate. 3G gives about the same usage and actually holds a much better signal than the Fascinate. Haven't been able to try LTE yet as we won't be getting it here until later this year but maybe I'll venture a couple hours to charlotte this weekend to test that. Troll on along and enjoy your wait for Froyo.
Ha...Wait until you get to 4g. I returned mine already because I live in an area that it kept toggling between 3 & 4G and it killed the batt in 2 hours!
Even when I was in a all 4G area it ate battery like a beast! But it is a **bleep** nice phone in every other aspect! I just couldnt deal with the battery life....It is SMOKIN FAST on LTE here in Cali!! and I mean SMOKIN!
There's an option to toggle where it only uses 3G. LTE is quite unstable in a lot of areas and killing the battery just the same as being in a poor 3G area with the 3G/1X switch. At work, the signal was so poor with the Fascinate that I pretty much had to use wifi or it'd eat the batter. The Thunderbolt actually holds the signal. Plus there's no real need to be connected to LTE around the clock for general browsing and email.
It's Not trolling it's seriously junk dual core is around the corner and your wasting money on it {please keep your posts courteous} I'll stock with the superior samsung hardware
lol. And what exactly is out right now that fully utilizes dual core? NOTHING. Not even the latest OS. It looks good on paper and for bragging rights but that's it. There are no real significant advantages a person will see in an average days use. Oh and a quad-core device is coming around Christmas. Guess those dual cores are a waste of money too.
And I still have a Fascinate. One that is running Froyo like a couple others here.
