Does anyone know what the outgoing email server settings should be.  I have entered in what bellsouth(att) told me and when the droid checks the server setting I do not get any errors.  But when I try to send email it says"connection error".  Thank you.

I had the same problem and came acrossed this. I am bellsouth also and changed the SMTP to what this article reads. Instead of mail.bellsouth.net try smtp.att.yahoo.com  It worked for me.

 

How can I access my email through a wireless handheld?

 

If you want to send AT&T email with a Wireless handheld device (like a PDA), you'll need to contact your Wireless provider to adjust your SMTP mail settings.

 

 

Note:  You'll still be able to receive email through AT&T, and can leave the POP3 mail settings on the wireless handheld as pop.att.yahoo.com.

 

For example:

POP3: pop.att.yahoo.com
SMTP: smtp.att.yahoo.com
