Transfer of contacts from LG to Droid X2, present but not accessible

I've purchased a Droid X2, moving from an LG VX8350 (maybe the numbers aren't quite right) but...

the Verizon guy said he could xfer my phone list from the LG to the Droid on "a machine". Good, fine, whatever.

He tried but told me the data didn't transfer. Darn. Sure enough, no old numbers in my Droid "Contacts"

but all my sync'ed Gmail contacts were present.

Then...when using an app called QR Droid, I came across ALL my old numbers mixed with my

Gmail data in a set of choices to create QR codes. Sadly, they don't show up any place else,

or at least not that I can find them.

Question...is there another location for contact data that I might retrieve the desired info and

have it in my standard phone directory?

Was the LG phone an Android Device? If so you could use the free VZW backup app.

No, the old phone was "just a phone".

I had tried to use Back-up Assistant online but kept

getting a failure notice "Catalog not available, try again later".

Verizon guy, at the store, very helpful but couldn't figure out

device-to-device xfer.

It occurred but the data is not in a place I can get to.

That's because you cannot transfer standard phone contacts to a smart phone. The information is stored differently. No choice but to punch the info in.

Well, I'd accept that except I can clearly see them in another location.

They obviously transferred to the new Droid but to some obscure

folder where this little QR Droid app is finding them.

Where would that be and how can I move them to my regular contacts?

what planet are you from that you can't get contacts from a non-droid phone to a droid because of different formats?

i had a voyager for years and everything was xferred thru backup assistant to the dx before i any contact info was in gmail.

The link worked for me on my phone and I only tried it since someone mentioned that it doesn't work for them. Three times and each it loaded slightly differently. First time, easy peasy. Second time, a silly ad loaded on top and that particular style I have trouble closing to past it. Close the window and tried again. Third time, the site asked me if I want to participate in a survey. No thanks.
