GMAIL Sync Solution

Would an Admin please Pin this topic. I see the same problem come up repeatedly...

To all new and existing Droid X users: If you are having trouble with your Gmail syncing properly or regularly, please do the following.... It works, and will continue to work, using the Droid X's native resources.

Gmail Sync Solution: Press and hold on an open screen to bring up the "Widgets" menu > press "Android Widgets" > Scroll to, and open, "Power Control" > The "auto-sync" symbol (rotating arrows) should have a green bar lit below it (if it doesn't, then that's the problem) Light it up, and enjoy your regularly syncing Gmail. (once the sync symbol is lit, you can drag the widget to the trash, the function will stay active.... Also make sure all your Gmail account settings are set up correctly 4 syncing.

Not a bad find but I do not see it being sticky because the Admins and Mods post are the only ones added as a sticky.

i wasn't aware it's a problem when from within gmail, selecting contacts and calendar sync work for me.

i don't want it to sync all three, which it probably does.

i don't need something else/widget that may pull on the batt more than necessary.

Thank you SO MUCH for posting this fix! My gmail hasn't been syncing since the last Froyo update many months ago. I've been to several stores for support, but everything they suggested didn't fix the problem. I tried your fix and it immediately started syncing my gmail. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Now maybe I'll get notified in time when my son's soccer game details get changed at the last minute! Now I'm not sure I want to download the new Gingerbread update...
