A couple of weeks ago, my USB modem that i've used without issue for a year all of a sudden stopped working. It's a verzion UM150 usb card, the comp recognised the card and VZAccess Manager seemed to be loading fine, but the connect button was not able to be pushed.
So after troubleshooting with verzion for a while they couldn't fix it and posted me a new UM175 usb modem. After re-installing drivers and VZAccess Manager, VZAccess Manager won't recognise the modem during the
installation process even though its working and the computer
recognizes it.
Stumped i spoke to a friend who works with verizon and he mentioned that sometimes bluetooth can interfere with with VZAccess Manager. Then it occurred to me right before the issue started i brought a cheap set of speakers, which after got them home i noticed had bluetooth capabilities, so i played for 5mins trying to get it to work via bluetooth, i was unsuccessful but i'm sure i changed some settings, and before this i'd not used any bluetooth with the computer.
Also today i tried opening Excel (again haven;t used this since trying to use the bluetooth speakers) and it has a critical error and closes every time, but if i turn off my wireless switch, which also turns off bluetooth, it opens fine, then i can turn the wireless back on.
I'm generally good a problem solving on computers with this stuff and have tried a few of the typical fixes that i can think of but this has me stumped. Never really used bluetooth before though..
Laptop is a Gateway P-6831FX, Running on Vista Home Premium 32 bit Service Pack 2
Any and all suggestions will be a great help..
Is there a way to turn off/Disable bluetooth completely? i never use it.
(Looked in BIOS
didn't see it in there) I've gone to bluetooth options and reset to default, no luck..
Would reverting to a system back up work? if i can find one
Thanks in advance...
