It was recommended that always turn on airplane mode when I use (free) wi-fi with my Kin Two-m, so I don't inadvertently switch to 3G (I don't want a pay data plan)... I had Verizon turn on the data block... so it just seems like an extra step I might not have to do ...and it prevents me from receiving calls or messages, if I'm, say, checking email using Starbucks free wi-fi ..........
