Might want to drop by and read the article to keep yourself educated on this issue..

Not a problem, seems that this is starting to become a real issue to concern users... The hackers are getting slick with their tactics... Hope this doesn't effect the open part of androids OS but it appears it will have to because I do not see developers securing the apps in a way that they cant simply be modified with malicious codes.. I am making it a practice to decompile all apps I install to have a ideal what all they are doing in the background..
Thanks for the info. I have 2 questions for you then... what do you mean you are "making it a practice to decompile all apps" to have an idea of what they are doing in the background? Also, do you think programs like "lookout" will catch stuff like that? I don't post terribly much here but I read here daily. You seem to know a LOT.

I have developed apps over the years so I can read programming code but I just got into using Android in the last year but I have developed and customized a few apps for Android so I make it a habit to open the apps that I decide to use and look over the commands that are setup in the app to determine and security exploits hidden into the app. I do this for fun and also as a learning tool for me so I can develop more for the market..
The latest Lookout version appears to be a very nice app and works well but to get the full protection you have to sign up for the 3.99 a month premium service but from what I have seen it may be worth the investment, I have been using Kaspersky but unless you are familiar with optimizing systems resources it can be a bit of a load on the system at times but it is my prefrence, Lookout should work well for you..
Thanks for the heads up, Wildman. viruses and trojans have slowly been working their way into the Android system for quite a while now, as you well know. It should behoove everyone to download some sort of virus protector such as Lookout, which is what I use. Symantic is also working on a virus protector as well as several other companies.
The only thing that bugs me about the whole article is the source. 3 different links to 3 different sites but all of them list the source of the article as originating from lookout blog. Wouldn`t be the first time a company conned people into buying a product. I`ll have to dig around more and see if outside sources can confirm.

I understand your view on this, Lookout is the original source but other developers have researched and verified simular attacks being used, since Google has verified attacks to the market so because the source is from lookout does not lessing the information that Android is being targeted.
I do not take this post as the final word but just a heads up...
