You should search the android section of this community. There are several posts covering the low space issue on the LG Ally.

Start by clearing cache.
Settings >applications > Manage applications > all tab > menu button > sort by size. Go through each application one by one and press the clear cache button.

Uninstall any of the applications you don't use.

Thanks for your suggestion Ann! In addition, I would recommend deleting your trash from your email. I see a lot of people that have thousands of emails in the trash folder. You also have the option to move applications to the memory card to clear up some memory. Follow the same steps Ann gave. Instead of choosing force close, choose Move to SD. Not every application has this option, the developer has to allow the application to have this feature. These steps will definitely clear up your memory so you will stop getting that error.
