Droid 2 Camera Problem... any suggestions??

I have a Droid 2 and before I wait for hours in a Verizon store, I'd like to try any suggestions first. Whenever I hit the camera icon on the screen it vibrates and goes black like its coming on, then goes right back to the home/main screen again... I tried hitting this side camera button and all it does is vibrate.. any suggestions before waiting forever at a store??

Possible app conflict?

Try the data for the camera application. Settings > Manage applications > all tab > scroll down to the camera > press the clear data button and force close if necessary.

After that, I'm stumped.
