is the 4gb microsd card compatible with the LG VX8700 with the original firmware (T87VZV01) ?

My family has an LG VX8700 with the original firmware T87VZV01

 

I've read comments from a few people who said they were able to use the 4gb microsd card with this phone, but they did not specify what firmware was on their phone. I'm aware that there were two firmware updates (one of which was supposed to make the phone compatible with the 8gb microsd card). But since this phone is out of warranty I'm uncomfortable with having the firmware updated by Verizon in case something goes wrong.

I have the same phone with firmware T87VZV02. I have an 8GB card installed to the brim filled with music.

Go to any Verizon store to have firmware T87VZV02 installed. Make sure you remove the storage card before they do the upgrade, since it may delete the info you have on the card.
