Camera image on screen freezes

I've had my Droid X for about 6 months now, and I just started having problems with the camera. When i launch the stock camera app, it begins to show whatever I'm pointing at, then it immediately freezes whatever is on the screen, like a freeze frame. I can back out of it, but can't take the picture. When I try to launch the camcorder app, I just get a black screen. Very annoying and it renders the camera/camcorder useless. I've read many posts from people who did a factory reset, which didn't seem to resolve the problem for them. Any ideas?

Are you having the issue with just the stock camera app? Have you tried using a third party app with no problem? If you can, then I would recommend the master reset. Click here for the master reset steps.

I had this same problem Verizon told me to d a factory reset, not really happy about it but did as requested, new X was on the way & I thought what the heck try to clear thr data, worked like a charm , called Verizon told them don't send that replacement! Go to menu-manage apps-all-camera-clear data. Hope this helps :smileywink:

Hi AdamE, I'm having this same problem with the stock camera and camcorder apps. I have cleared the data for the camera, done a factory data reset, nothing seesm to fix this. It only started since installing 2.3.3.
