Verizon Wireless UMW190 Security Support

I would like to better understand the security "gaps" or advantages of the Verizon Wireless UMW190 3G WAN Card.

 

Does the WAN device itself have built-in encryption functions? Also, are there any types of inherent built-in security features on these WAN cards?

 

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but unless you plug it into a router, there is no way it could be a security risk. Other computers cannot connect wirelessly. If you plug it into a router, then it's only as safe as your router security and passwords, etc.
