LG ENV 3 - Worst Phone - Verizon knows it and still continues to sell it.

I have an LG ENV3 and the phone keeps shutting itself off. Apparently this happens often with this phone. Would have been nice to know before I bought it. I went to the Verizon store near me for help and they told me it was a design flaw! And they couldn't do anything for me. My question is, if they know this why are they still selling it!!!

I agree having a phone that powers off on its own would be a frustrating issue. We did work with LG and discover the cause of this was a loose connection between the battery and the phone. We started sending out replacements with the new battery around May 2010. If this was a refurbished phone you purchased from an indirect dealer, it is possible it may still have the old battery. Try moving the battery around slightly and see if it is able to move. If it is, you may have the older battery. I would suggest going to the store where you purchased the phone to see if they have new batteries in stock for the phone. If not, we can send a replacement phone that will have the newly designed battery.

This is a well reported issue on these forums, and if you did a search you'd find a fix for it.

Take the battery out and clean the contacts very carefully with a q-tip or can of air. Then, take a small piece of paper and fold it up and put it behind the battery. That will completely fix the shut off issue.

I personally never had any issues after cleaning the battery contacts on my EnV3, and a large amount of users on here are reporting that this is the only fix.

Have had mine for 1 1/2yrs now and never a shut down issue for me or anything else. I don't get why every one has this trouble and me and my friends that have it don't. I would like to know how many don't have the issue compared to how many who do. My son had it happen with his ENV2 10 months in so they gave him a replacement. Mary
