LG Cosmos - added Calendar to main screen, cannot get rid of it! Help

Cosmos Noob here.

 

Just got this phone, seems okay, I am not smart, so my phone isn't either.

 

Problem is I added some screen widgets (?) last night including the Calendar, and now I want to remove from the main screen.

 

Anybody know how to do this?

Just had someone 25 years younger than me show me...  the trashcan shows up only when the icon has been touched...  duh.
