Software update for new Bluetooth Device

I bought a new car with Bluetooth connection to my cell phone. I pair the phone to the car's systems and it stays connected for a few minutes then disconnects. I dug through Verizon's web pages and found to make the connection, my phone must be at software level W8990VW9331F.179 which is not currently on my phone. I went to a local Verizon Store that suppose to do software updates, but they did not have that software level. How do I find a store that has the correct software, the local store manager was at a lost on how I should proceed. I am not returning my new car. I will change cell phone services to fix it!

John, our stores do not typically carry software updates. In most cases, our phones update over the air. Let's start by finding out what kind of phone do you have, okay?

Hi Dion, My phone is a Verizon Escapade. I found a table on Verizon http://search.vzw.com/?q=Verizon%20Wireless%20Escapade that says I need software version "WP8990 W8990VW9331F.179 HW: REV_01" which is an older version that is currently installed on my phone, "W8990 VWA531F.188 HW REV_01"! So my dilemma is do I back install an older version or wait it out and get a phone Volvo blesses

Hi jfmaher! Typically it isn't possible to install/overlay an older software version. I wouldn't do it because it would cause your phone to either malfunction or fail to be recognized by our network (which will rob you of the ability to make calls). In such a case, you may want to check in with the car manufacturer to see when they'll support the latest software for the Escapade, or see if there's a different phone they can mate with.
