LG Dare touch Screen

I just recently bought an LG Dare a few days ago. I haven't dropped it or done anything to it besides use it. The touch screen is now not working, every now and then it will work properly then it just won't work. Today it has been pretty hot and humid out, I don't know if that has anything to do with it or not, but it hasn't been sitting in the sun. What do I do?

Did you purchase the phone new or used?

Did you check the water damage indicator behind the battery to see if the humidity affected it? I've heard cases of sweat and humidity ruining a phone and making the water indicator change.

Hello JDawes08,

If there is no physical or water damage to the device and a battery pull did not assist, I would suggest checking the software on the device first. You can check this by going to Menu>Settings & Tools>Phone Info>Software Update>Check new. This will advise you if you have an update available to do over the phone and of your current software. The most current version is VX970V06. If you do not have this version and are unable to download yourself you can take the device to a VZW store for assistance at no charge. If this does not assist I would suggest a factory reset. You can do this by navigating to Menu>Settings & Tools>Phone Settings>Security>Enter Lock Code which is the last four digits of you mobile number unless you changed it>Restore Phone and press ok and enter lock code one last time. The device will reset and will need to be re-activated by dialing *228send and choose option 1 to program. You will be able to retest and if successful great and if not we would need to go over what replacement options you have on your account. Please keep in mind the reset will erase everything on your device so please back up prior if desired. Please let me know if this helps. Thank you.
