would they honor it?

well, about couple days back i called in about that all contract ending in 2010 are eligible to get the droid x. so i called VZW CS rep and he didn't know anything about it so he put me on hold for a while then came back with good news he told me i was able to get that early upgrade and he wrote it in detailed on my account. anyways now i called back and other cs rep told me i wasn't eligible because on my account it says im able to get a new phone on october but that was just anual upgrade i guess. he said my contract doesn't end till feb of 2011 which i didn't know, . told them to look what that guy wrote on my account and the CS was, ug um i think they'd have to honor that since other rep but still gotta get it approve. he also said that should be honored but the way he said he didn't know. so anyone have any similar problems or anything? i really want that droid x and do they usually honor it if they wrote it on your account? they gave me the wrong info?

The way it works is you would be eligable for the deal if your contract ends during this calander year. Your upgrade eligability and your new every 2 come up at the 20 month point on a 24month contract. So your upgrade date is 4 months ahead of your contract end date. The reason for that is they want to entice you to re-up just before your contract ends so that they can lock you in for 2 more years. Once your 20 months is up you feel the itch if you are like me. I actually feel it about once a year LOL. So you would be eligable for upgrade in October but your contract is good through February. Meaning the last time you re-upped your contract was February of 2009. Now since this is kind of an odd issue and whatever it will ultimately be up to whoever is supervisor of the caller you get when you call to place your order as to whether they will honor what the one rep told you. That is hard to say and if it gets escalated it might go to level 2 support and that depends on who handles that issue or your call or however it is set up. Some are by the book and will give every answer by the book about how contracts and promotions are lined out and all of that so you can see for yourself that the policy is in our favor and the rep misinformed you and you will not be eligeable until october. Others will talk it over with superiors and there may be some discussion about how the promotion doesn't really work for you because your eligeability will come before the deal would allow for early upgrade and since it is a one time only thing or whatever and you are electing to use it for this purpose despite the fact that better phones will be available for the same price at the end of the year they should allow you to use it.

Just to give you something to think about and put what was written on your account in perspective.

If the CS made a mistake and said that Verizon would be giving you a $10,000 credit to your account, do you think Verizon would honor that, just because it was "written to your account?"

True. But the thing is i was misinformed. I was told i could have the phone at the upgrade price. But now their saying no and maybe theyll honor what the rep wrote. I just hate when one person tell you all these and you get hype and then your told you can't. Just irritating is all

So the "early upgrade" promotion is essentially just a one month early upgrade--it only affects people who can upgrade before September anyway since all September NE2 upgrades have contracts ending in January. So only really impatient people who could wait one month and don't want to benefit from this promotion, am I understanding that right?
