Is there a way to move photos from phone to SD card?

Can anyone tell me how to move photos from the phone memory to the SD card?

Also, I just got a new phone under warranty because the down volume key on the old phone hasn't worked for a while. Can anyone give advice on what I should do before activating the new phone so that as much as possible is saved? I'd like to make this transition as painless as possible.

@ juliep99 In regards to the steps you need to make sure your transition is painless : I would recommend having your contacts synced up with Google. I would make sure you have your Google username/password. Transfer music and photos to the sd card. Also, make sure that your apps are backed up using an app that backs up your apps (i.e. app brain). Normally the files are saved in sd card / DCIM / 100MEDIA but if the files are in internal memory it should be in same folder and you can copy the files and paste them in the sd card directory... You can do this with file explores like ES or Astro file explorer from market..
