Email Trouble

Is anyone having trouble sending emails from the default email app? Not the Gmail app.

I have outgoing message fail and get stuck there from time to time.

If I reboot they end up going out eventually.

This time I have rebooted twice and have several outgoing stuck from the day.

Any Ideas? update issue?

If your outgoing messages are not sending out – I would confirm that your outgoing server settings are correct. From what you are describing that seems to be the problem. Do you have problems receiving emails?

This is a on going issue where the data connection seems to go dormant and rebooting is usually the solution.... Try going to Settings / Wireless and Networks / Mobile Networks / System Select / Select Home Only and reboot, this helped me but I am unsure if it resolve your issue but worth a try.

Thanks for the suggestion, but it did not work.

Still have several messages stuick in the outbox.

I had that problem with my Comcast mail. A tech suggested I remove the account and then reactivate it. That worked for me.

My Yahoo has always been alittle slower Than Gmail.: Now if Google would buy Rim well then the Ball game would change. Google getting Rim's email Servers it would be a boost that Android Needs.

@ Scottnofx : you might also Try Wiping The Cache Partition: it's not a Full factory reset but it might help

To Do So

* Power off

* Power on Holding Home Key

* When the Android with Excalamation Point Shows up Press BOTH Volume Keys

* Use the Volume Keys to navigate to "wipe Cache parttion" and tap power button to select

* Wait for it to finish an select reboot system

I appreciate all the info and ideas provided on this subject. I would like the opportunity to shed some light on the subject. Most POP3 email accounts doesn't require any additional security measures or cost to use their outgoing servers to send email. Yahoo! allows it's users to use the outgoing server is they are subscribed to the premium email service. Here are some options to resolve this issue.

1. Download Yahoo! Mail from the Market (This is free).

2. Subscribe to Yahoo! Plus. This would give you access to Yahoo's outgoing POP server. (This cost $19.99 a year)

3. Used Gmail outgoing server from your Gmail account to send emails (This will not effect your ability to receive Yahoo emails)

Please keep in mind that if you decide to exercise option 3, your reply email will be your Gmail email & not your Yahoo. I usually recommend this step as a last resort. As always, before downloading a 3rd party apps I recommend reading the reviews to gain an understanding on how it works and if it will meet your needs.

I am having same problem. Messages get stuck with red crossbar saying they have not been sent. Occasionally they loosen up and apparently do go, but it is a real pita.
