Bad cell service - cell signal extenders?

Dear All,

 

I have pretty dodgy cell service in my new apartment and someone had mentioned cell signal extenders. What's the best one to get (that is preferably closer to $100 or less) that is effective and compatible with the Verizon network and my LG Envy Touch phone?
