Facebook Sync HELP

I just switched from Sprint to Verizon recently and bought the new DROID (Motorola) Razr. I want to sync all of my phone contacts (which are synced through Gmail) to Facebook. So each time a contact calls or texts, I am able to see their Facebook photo.

However, I’ve already tried Settings – Accounts – Add Account – Facebook, but this ads ALL Facebook friends to my phone contact list…which I do not want. All I want is the CURRENT list of contacts synced with Facebook.

Additionally, I was told to go to the Facebook app and try Menu – Settings, and try to sync…but no such option exists. When I reach Settings, only General and Notification Settings are listed.

HELP!

I never knew how to sync until I read your post and found out facebook is already synced to my contacts, which explains why I have double contacts for certain people. Some of my contacts however don't show the facebook picture either.

I just upgraded to the Droid Razr from a Droid X. I can't get photos for my contacts either. All of my contacts previously had their FB photo show and now only one person out of 100. The rest of my contacts have the little grey silhouette. I want their FB photo! I've googled and found directions to sync FB, but as you said above the option doesn't exist. I'll keep looking and if I find anything, I'll share!

The best I was able to do was to set up and use the favorites contact list. If you want to use the Facebook app, you're going to get ALL the contacts. I don't understand why, it makes no sense to me. To set the favorites list, go through your entire contact list and each name you want to add, tap it open and highlight the star in the upper right corner. Once you're done, you can either add the Favorite Contacts widget to the home screen, which was already on my phone when I got it, or you can open your contacts list and click Favorites at the top. You'll see your list as you want.

I got rid of duplicates by tapping the entry and choosing the option to Merge. It then suggested which entry to merge with, but be warned, it's not always right. You can scroll through and select the right one though.

Yes you can add the pictures by going into your contacts, select edit, and then from the menu select join. Once you select join it should bring in your contacts from FB and then you select the person from FB. Remember to hit save. Once you do this then the # and the picture from FB will be together.

You might have to go in and join the phone number with the information from Facebook.
