Kin Twom deleted all pic/video/contacts by itself

Yesterday I was in San Jose. I was busy doing something and when I took a look at my Kin Twom phone it had a message box popped up. I didn't read the whole text but it did mention something about "PIN". I didn't think it was important and pressed 'OK' button and the phone powered down by itself and when it came back, device was reset to factory setting and all my user data (pics, video, contacts, everything) was gone!! Does anyone know what happened here? I'm mad as hell and about to sue someone for this...

I think I know what happened. My brother one time tried to guess my PIN number a couple of times. After getting it wrong too many times, the phone automatically deletes all of the data (contacts, pictures, etc.) If it was in your pocket, you might be pressing the PIN numbers by accident, and then that happens. I do it all the time, it gets me VERY angry. How the phone unlocks itself to get to the PIN screen is another mystery all together...
