Does a Replacement CPO Samsung Rogue require a data plan?

Hello,

I have searched on the web and here and I get conflicting answers about whether the Samsung Rogue is required to have data. It seems like many instances of the Rogue requiring data were from before VZW changed their policy. I have read that as of now, some people were able to use this phone withough a required data package. A lady even made a blog post saying that she had done this.

Anyways, I have a line without insurance and would like to purchase a replacement from the CPO Replacement program. The Rogue is the phone I like. The Rogue is listed under the Feature Phones category, and from my understanding, Feature Phones are not required to have a mandatory data plan according to current VZW policy. I mean this phone is less capable than the Kin TwoM, which doesn't require data, so it makes sense that the Rogue doesn't either, but I want to be sure.

Please clarify if this is correct.

You are correct! The Samsung Rogue does not require a data plan. You have the option of using data on a

Pay As You Go basis, or getting a $10.00 data plan that includes 75MB of data and Mobile Email for no charge. You also have an option to block the data services from being used from the handset altogether.

Though there will be no monthly charge for the Mobile Email feature listed above, using it will use the data allotment in your plan.

You are able to add a data plan online by following these steps:

Sign in to My Verizon at http://www.vzw.com
Under the Plan column, select Change Features.
Select a line to change features.
Select the features to add or remove.
Select Next.
Select the effective date for the features change(s).
- Note the bulleted billing explanations below the selection.
Select Next.
- The Please Review Your Changes screen displays.
- Select Other Included Features to display that page.
Select Submit.
