Am I missing any possible way to turn the screen off? Surely it doesn't stay lit all the time, and use lots of battery?

Thanks in advance! I've looked for this answer in several places, and didn't see it. This makes me think I'm just missing it somehow.

Look into your basic phone settings, display options, and backlight settings. You can set the time out to varying amounts, like 7 sec, 15 sec, 30 sec, etc. or always on.
