Ghost Text Message

Can someone please help, I have the Droid Incredible and everytime I text someone or receive a text I keep getting a "ghost text message" that I deleted a long time ago!!!!!

Here are a couple of things to try - delete all your text messages, then pull the battery with the phone on. Leave the battery out for a minute or two, then put it back in and restart the phone.

Dial *228 option one after deleting all your text messages. Let the phone reboot and see if there is any difference.

Is the "ghost" message from the person you are currently texting with? Is it the same message that keeps coming back?

The message is from someone who I text with alot. It is an old text from that person that keeps coming back everytime I text anyone or anyone texts me, not just that person. If you try to open this text, it just keeps running, doesn't open. I will try what you suggested, thanks.

Are you still receiving the text message that keeps appearing? If you attempted what SuzyQ suggested and are still experiencing this I would try three more things. First make sure you are running on the most recent software on the device. You can check this by navigating to Settings>About Phone>System Update. Second I would try clearing the cache and data on the messaging application after deleting all the text messages and then reboot and retest. (If you are using a third party messaging app please remove and redownload.) You can clear the cache/data by going to Settings>Applications>Manage Applications>Find the messaging icon and tap>Clear cache/data. If this does not assist I would completely reset the device by doing a factory reset. Please keep in mind this will erase everything on the device so please backup prior. You can reset by Settings>SD & Storage>Factory Data Reset>Reset Phone>Erase Everything. After the reboot the phone will prompt activation by choosing option 1. Please let me know if this helps you.
