My Droid x2 freezes periodically. All I have to do is turn it off and restart it, and it is O.K. But this is a real pain. What to do?
Sounds like a app hogging up systems resources, I would install SystemPanel to identify the possible app causing the issue, make sure to activate the monitoring option to track your apps under the settings options.
I've had my Droid x2 since about August. It took a couple of weeks before my mom started to freeze for no reason and I would have to take the battery out and then turn it back on. My phone also just turned off on it's own. I called the incidents in everytime and they sent me a replacement phone. 2 days after I received my replacement phone, it froze and randomly shut off the one night at dinner. I went into a Verizon store and they are sending my another replacement phone. They said they couldn't do anything about it because its not "a known" issue with the droid x2's.... It should be a a known issue since I have read other forums saying that they have been having the same issues. My uncle who just got the Droid x2 and had it for 3 days has been having the same problems as myself....
Verizon and Motorola need to get it together her, I am not going to continue to have a faulty phone.. Anyone else experienceing these problems? It is not any certain app that I have downloaded either. I have nothing on it right now and it has done it
I have had my Droid x2 for almost a yr now. Well this is my 3rd one. They keep freezing up on me. i dont have but a couple apps. My Droid actually shuts down to where i cannot turn it on at all. It will show the blinking light saying i have a message but will not turn on. This is crazy. My 3rd phone that has done this. i was wondering if anyone else has had this problem? Im not talking about it rebooting, freezing and then it comes back on. im talking about it actually shuts down as in nothing but that blinking light until the battery goes down..my gf has the same phone ans hers never has a problem and she has alot of apps. im confused every phone i have ever owned i have had to have a replacements..
if you've gone thru 3 phones and continue to have the problem I would be suspicious of some rogue APP causing your grief. What process did you go thru when you received the replacement? Did you immediately re-install your 3rd party APPS? or did you run "native" for a week or so just to make sure the phone is working properly? How frequently does the problem occur? Can you reproduce the issue? If so, I wold run in SAFE MODE just to rule out the 3rd party APPS. if it behaves properly, time to start uninstalling APPS. Lastly, might be time to do a FACTORY RESET without automatically re-installing your APPS.
Since you have had your phone as you claim for almost a year in that time have you done a factory Reset ! there's been a couple updates for that phone. An when they come out it's a good practice to Fr the phone before or after an Update. The reason the old software on the phone does'nt always play nice with the new an can cause many issues.... But bad apps can cause this as well an are you charging the phone with it's original Charger. Give the one thing i mention a strong thought as it might help straighten that phone out. I got a Droid X the first one... got it the second day after the release of the X. An it's had Eclair , Fro-Yo an Ginger Now an on every one of the Updates i did a factory Reset. An except for some minor issues on it. the phone has done very Well.... B33
When i get the phone i run it as is. I make sure I put my numbers in first and foremost. If it doesnt cause a problem i add apps. As soon as I feel like its slow I delete apps. yes I done the factory restart. I have tried everything. When it goes black there is nothing I can do. I try taking the battery out nothing. It doesnt even give me a warning it just goes out. I was about to text Friday night and all of a sudden it went black. and nothing since. I called tech support and yep I got another phone on the way. Im at a loss at what to do. i am thankful you guys are helpful.
I have done the factory resets and still it does its own thing. but when it goes black I cant do a thing with it. i am trying to understand why my phones go black ,like i cant turn them on at all. nothing but a black screen.. no calls in or out. yes i have all original chargers to it. It has a new battery. It was fully charged.. It was working good that day. thank you for helping me tho.
Is this reproducible? of so, please boot into SAFE MODE and test it ... Otherwise, I'm at a loss -- since you already did a Factory Reset ...
Mine does the same with freezing and shutting off randomly. Haven't done anything about, waiting for upgrade soon. It's a pain!
@wood2022Allow me to sooth the pain for you! How long has the freezing and power issue been a problem? Have you installed any type of antivirus, data or battery saver applications? If so, uninstall http://bit.ly/QwxiQm and retest. These applications have been known to cause these types of device symptoms. Let me know!AnthonyTa_VZWVZW SupportFollow us on Twitter @VZWSupport
