Connected to PC and charging, but will not sync

I've synced my phone to my pc dozens of times so I know how to do it. Its currently connected and its even charging, but it will not sync. When I click on the sync icon, it tells me no device connected.

 

I've unconnected and reconnected.

I've checked the sync settings on the settings menu.

 

Anything else?

While connected, if you use the menu at the top (where you see your time and other things running, you can go to where it says it's connected (charging, probably says charging only).  Tap on that and in the menu that comes up, change to the selection you want.  Please post back as to whether or not this helped.  Thanks!
