Bluetooth Music Quality - no mid range or lows

Just picked up a Droid RZR on 12/31.... I have an LG HBS-700 bluetooth headset that I have been using with my orginal Driod for over a year. Music and sound quality are great.

When I play music or place a call using the RZR and the LG HBS-700 the lows and the mid range frequencies don't come through only the high frequencies.

I can pair back to my orginal Droid and the sound is great.

I have brought it into the Verizon store... other than a software upgrade for a 4 day old phone they were not able to make any suggestions to solve.

I have contacted LG as well so far nothing there.

Any ideas on solving this issue.

Seriously considering returning this phone (also having battery life issues).

try a diff music app

I have used the standard Music App and the KISS Music Player, both have the same issue.

I plugged in standard wired head phones via the head phone jack (no microphone) and it worked great. (very good sound quality).

Any specific Music App I should try?

Due to the Blue Tooth sound quality issue and the poor battery life I returned the RAZR.

I did get hit with the $35 restocking fee.

I am back on the original Driod.

Despite calls and chat sessions to Verizon, Motorola and LG I was not able to get the bluetooth sound quality issue resolved. I hope motorola or LG are able to resolve this issue.

Sorry I didn't see this earlier. I'm wondering if you had tried a different Bluetooth device if your results would have been different? I use Bluetooth to listen to music using both the standard app and (mostly) the Google Music app. I don't have a problem with sound quality at all - it seems very good. There are Menu options for equalizer settings so that would have been another option.. So if you liked the Razr other than that, it might be worth taking another BT device into the store and trying it out.

Some blue tooth devices did work, such as the Jawbone Jam Box and the Motorola SD9 headset. However the form factor of the LG HBS-700 makes it very versitale allowing me to use it under helmets when riding motorcycle, mountain or road biking or just working out at the gym. It was a tough call but use during those times is more important than the other features the Razr delivers.

I got the LG HBS-700 this afternoon. I also have the Motorola Elite Sliver, which is not stereo. I've tried them both with my Razr and with an iPod Touch. The Motorola works fine with both, needing no EQ profile changes. The LG works fine with the iPod but with the Razr defaults to a low volume, with tinny sound. I can get a nice full sound by switching EQ profiles - pressing the up & down volume buttons together. It does not switch back during the length of my playing music, but if I stop it or turn it off, it does.

I've written LG and asked them if they know of a way to save a profile. My guess is not, but it doesn't hurt to ask. I'm still happy with the LG's. They have good sound (after I make the profile change), are so lightweight and comfortable I forget I'm wearing them, and aesthetically have a low, unobtrusive profile. I could send them back as Amazon's very good about that, but for $52, I think they're well worth a little inconvenience. When shopping I didn't see anything else I was that crazy about.

EDIT: Meh! It defaults back every time I pause what I'm playing. :smileysad: That's annoying. I think I'm going to order Motorola's SD10-HD's and compare them. I'm a bit worried that the molded plastic won't be as nice, but I guess I'll just try them both and see where the pro/con thing ends up.
