Nexus cycling service

Just picked up my Nexus yesterday and have had service issues. It seems to work fine for 10-15 mins then the signal icon goes to all gray then no service, then blue 1X, the blue 3G. The entire process takes a few mins but is SUPER annoying. Its running 4.0.2. I live on the Florida gulf coast in a 3G only area. I have pulled the batt/sim/ect.... and it still only works for small lengths of time. I Had a Thunderbolt since release and had to fight and suffer for months before anything was done about and I am worried this is the same boat... :smileysad: I do expect some issues with new phones and im good with some apps not working and such but the service issue sucks bad. Anyone else have this issue or have any info?

Other things I have noticed--> very slow typing and response in landscape---->can't use data while on voice

I'm experiencing the same thing in a 4G coverage area. It's like the phone's network connection is going into sleep or airplane mode or something. Signal strength (if accurate as displayed on the phone) is terrible.

Also experiencing where the phone will show a 4G connection, I attempt to open android market...and the phone just sit there trying to load the main page. After awhile, I get the "No connection Retry" message....all the while the 4G is still lit up on the signal bar. ???

Factory reset performed on a long shot possible correction. Zero improvement.

You cannot use voice and data in a 3g area.... it doesn't work.... there was only one phone that could, and that was the Thunderbolt. They limited the voice to the 1x radio, thus allowing 3g data to work at the same time as voice. No other phone has that feature.

as for the connectiviy issues, I have sparse coverage in my house (old house wiring) but I have not had many connection issues... no more than my Droid X in the same spots in the house.... The signal strength meter on the Nexus does not truly reflect the signal strength... my strength shows no or 1 bar in the house, but a couple of signal strength apps show much better signal strength than the Nexus shows.... so they have a slight problem there.
