I cannot send a text. The keyboard does not come up when you tap on the phone to compose a message. And when you hit the microphone, it won't record the message(that stopped working before the keyboard). Is there a setting to make it work again or do I need to take it to the store to have it looked at?

It is so important to be able to use your keyboard on a phone that is all-touch!

 

You said that the keyboard does not come up when you tap to compose a message.  Please long press on the text box to see if any keyboard options show in a pop-up window.  If they do, select one of the keyboards and see what happens next. If that doesn't work, in Settings>Language & Keyboard>Keyboard Settings, is there anything listed at all?

 

Try installing a keyboard from the Market and see if any options show up.  Most are free.
