Charged for Droid Inc. Before shipped

Just received my bill from Verizon and I was charged for my Inc. It is not even supposed to ship till the 20th? Has anyone dealt with this? Does Verizon have a solution? I do not want to just not pay that portion b/c I will be charged a late fee, but I do not want to pay for something I don't even have?

That is par for the course with Verizon. I ordered the incredible. They shipped the Eris, $159. they charged me for the original order. Then when I called them, they charged me another $212 for the backordered incredible. 2 weeks later I got a bill for $157. My verizon line was NEVER activated. I had no phone at that time! I finally bought the incredible at Best Buy and Verizon agreed to let me purchase it ONLY after I told them to cancel my account.

It has been this way for every person who has ordered the phone.

it's not unlike many things you "order." whethter on the vendor's account, or your credit card.....you are typically charged immediately when you order....not when the item actually shows up on your door step. the only difference is that USUALLY what you are ordering ships much quicker. but if you order on ebay, walmart.com, etc. aren't you usually charged immidiately?

You are normally charged when the goods ship. not when the order is placed. Now they may place a hold for the amount on the card till it ships, but you are not expected to pay before the goods ship. If you purchased something and it shipped 3-5 days later, you really would not see a difference, but when they are shipping 30 days after purchase, your payment is most likely due. If you purchased a pre-order item off of amazon.com they would not charge you till it shipped. Just think it is bad CS.

I run an on-line auto parts store. We get an authorization from the CC companybefore we ship. If I have the part in stock, I bill, then ship. If I have to order the part from a regional warehouse, I just get the authorization, but the account isn't debited till I ship.

They did the same for my DINC too! Still havn't received it yet, expect it by the 19th. I can only hope!

Just called CS to see what the deal was and the individual I spoke too told me there was nothing they could do. And IF my phone did not ship before my due date of my bill and IF if I did not pay that portion of my bill I would still be responsible for the late fees incured. That is not right!!!!

I ordered by dinc on 6/18 over the phone. I did the add to the bill option. When i ordered CSM told me the amount was automatically added to the bill saying that i may have to pay for the phone before it actually arrives. I believe most are like this. I understand your point as well though. Hope this helps. Good luck with your wait. I am right there with you.
