Display blanks/locks during call using bluetooth headset.

I'm new to the Droid X2 and noticed recently during calls using my bluetooth headset the screen blanks and locks. Since the proximity sensor won't be of any help while on bluetooth, is there a way to prevent the blanking/locking during a call? If not, is there a way to unlock without hitting the top button. I tried the top button and it dropped the call. Goal is to be able to get back to the dialpad during a call.

Thanks for your answer, however the problem is not so much that the screen blanks, but that during a call it blanks too soon, interfering with the process of using the dialpad to punch in numbers needed during a call to most automated telephone systmes these days. I couldn't figure out how to get the screen back when it blanked during a call. Being new to Android, I am still learning how to effectively use it.

However, I have since discovered the way to get the screen back during the call--simply hit the "hard" Home button on the phone.

This is normal because you have a power manager on the device that turns the backlight off to save power when screen isn't needed..

Are you by chance using a replacement lock screen of launcher because they have a option to black out screen as soon as phone connects, usually disabling this option stop this, i had this issue when I used Widget Locker, after disabling the option everything was fine...
