I don't get as many as you, but about 3 - 4 times/day, I receive a message from number 4-1414 that says, "Premium Messaging to this mobile number has been blocked. Only the account owner may request a change to this setting with his/her wireless service provider."
I was told that this is some sort of spam or advertisement that is blocked at my request. I only get a fraction of what you receive, but I concur that it is very annoying getting these.
Not sure if this will help, but have you registered your cell number on the government's "Do Not Call" registry?
Yes, I am having the same problem you describe. The messages are meant for someone specific. Mostly they are all from different cell numbers...all from states back east. One number sent 3 separate messages one day. I called the number back from another phone. The woman acted surprised and said she had sent no messages. We have a family plan with 5 phones and mine is the only one with this problem. I'm ready for a solution. Blocking numbers isn't possible. And they don't seem to be computer generated, so disabling text sent from the internet isn't helpful.
I would like to receive text messages only from those people on my contacts list. Is there anyway to make that happen?
sounds like the latest version of spamming with cell phones. those phones probably got viruses or a spammer is using that cell phone number to spam other people.
I'm not sure how verizon can stop it though.
