I think you have to have a text plan. My plan is the $39.99 a month plus $5 for 250 text/pic msgs. There are a few different options to pick from. I would like to know if Hawaii is included in a nation wide plan? If not, how does the text work if someone is there? I have a friend in Canada and there are no extra charges to him for text but there is for calling.
To: jtb1028, yes there is a charge. You have to have a bundle to text anyone, you can get a bundle of 500 texts with unlimited texts to everyone on Verizon for $10. Or you can upgrade you plan to Nationwide Select, which includes unlimited text.
To: Ddddddd, Yes, hawaii is included in the nationwide plan. The text works the same for anyone in the US. Continental or not. I thought that texting someone in canada charged you as well, i will have to look into that.
