I have had my Droid X for over 6 months with no problems so far. Suddenly the keyboard is not responding properly. It is slow when typing and when you press the space bar the keyboard retracts. Any suggestions or solutions out there?

Hello! Thanks for the quick reply! I did as you asked and the cache was empty but I cleared all the data and so far that seems to have fixed the problem!!! Thank you!!!

thanks It worked for me too! It started happening just the other day after an automatic update (not sure if it was android or the verizon system) It was driving me crazy!!!!!!
Wanted to give B33 kudos, but can't figure out how!
Hi Droid Joy!
To give Kudos I think you just click on the red Kudos button under their name on their post.
I was so glad the info helped! I had been struggling with the keyboard for a week!!
I haven't had a problem since.
Thanks so much for the help! Saved me from a phone call to Technical Support since it was driving me crazy for the last few days!!
I talked to tech support and they seemed to have found the problem with the 'Next word prediction' function.
Go to 'Settings' --> 'Language & Keyboard' --> 'Multitouch keyboard' --> scroll down to 'next word prediction' and select to turn off.
Once I did this, everything was working perfectly normal. The tech also said Motorola is supposed to be coming out with an update to fix this soon.
Hope this helps!!

The update is out there in a rolling fashion (like normal)..... I have already got the .605 update which is suppose to take care of keyboard problems.....
But I never had keyboard problems on my phone, so I can't say if it fixes it or not. I can only confirm the OTA update is in the process of being put out there for everyone
ah ah Shucks Thanks for the Kudos.! B33
