prepaid u350 smooth convert to contract question

My husband has had a Samsung u350 phone for hte past 16 months until I ran it through the wash last Saturday. He has been without a phone for more than a week. I purchased the exact phone except it is a prepaid phone (still in the packaging). Can it be converted from a prepaid phone to finish out the remainder of our 24 month contract?

I could be wrong, but I believe a pre-paid needs to be active on a pre-paid account for 6 months before it can be used on a post-paid account. You can take it in to a local store and see if they can activate it for you, but I don't think you can.

You best bet is to find a friend with an unused Verizon phone, or look for something on eBay that's basic an inexpensive.

Tonisgirl, that is a great question. I understand you need to make sure your husband has a working phone. SuzyQ is correct, a prepaid phone needs to be active on a prepay account for 6 months before it can be activated on a postpay account. If you have another VZW phone you want to activate, you can dial *228 send to activate that one. You can also check your upgrade on each line by dialing #UPG send to see if you may have any eligible lines.
