After reinstalling battery, bottom quarter of screen flickers with grey lines (Gingerbread)

Hi, I've had my X since July of 2010, and this is the first issue I've ever had with it, and its very irritating so I'm kinda bummed. The other day, my phone froze for the first time. To solve this, I power drained by taking the battery out and holding the power button. This has worked previously on other phones where something similar had occurred. I then reinstalled the battery, and powered up. Now, the bottom quarter of my screen flickers (magnitude depends on the wallpaper or app background color). Is there anything I can do to rectify this?

Almost sounds like the battery wasn't put in all the way?

Try doing a battery pull without holding the power button, as that is not a needed step. Just make sure the phone is on when you do it, leave it out for 30 seconds, and put it back in.

I have never heard of "Power Draining" (taking the battery out and holding the power button) of the phone. What is it, what is it supposed to acomplish, & and where did you hear of it?

Dirk i agree with you there as i havent heard of this eather now i accidently let my my Dinc. go down to were it was dead an when i tried to repower it up all it wanted to do was go into a constant reboot but wance i did a FR on it. the issue was fixed an all is good with my incredible. B33

Are you using a extended battery, if so try taking the back cover off and see what happens because a number of users use stock back with extended battery and the pressure sometimes cause ripples or color bleeding....

Also the item with pressing the power button after pulling battery allows the device to discharge any remaining power stored in system but I normally only do this when a battery gets completely discharged and you can't get the device to power up even with a charge battery... Its a strange approach but it has worked for me over the years.

Its kind of like the ideal with placing a device in the refrigerator to get a device to power up after the device overheated. It may be strange but works..

Power draining is something I've always been told to do on like laptops...figured it was worth a shot here.

As for the issue being seen. After a few hours, the problem got a little better. The flickering is only very intermittant now. If it comes back, I'll try again with some of the suggestions made in the replies.
