I just had my software updated and now I don't have the phone icon anywhere on my home screen. I tried to add it to the dock but the phone icon is not one of the choices. This is a phone and I shouldn't have to hit two icons to get to the keyboard.

You mean you don't have a green Icon on the far left of your launcher bar???? Are you using some 3rd party Launcher or the stock launcher for BLUR?
To get the phone icon on your dock, press and hold the icon you would like to replace. A list of apps will come up. The app you want to put on there is the "Dialer". Select this and you are all set.
If you are using a different lauchger, such as ADW or some other 3rd party launcher, the method is slightly different, but by your post, I am assuming you are using the stock launcher.
No, I know I can get the Dialer on the dock but when I tap it I get the same screen as the Contacts icon. Why would two different icons go to the same screen? Isn't there a way to have the keypad come up with one touch not two. Like I said in my post... this is a phone and you would think you should be able to push one button to get a keypad. Thanks. I appreciate any help.
That was changed in GB ... WHen you click on the Icon, it will return you to whichever TAB you had selected before at the top of that DIALER screen -- e.g., "Dialer", "Recent", "Contacts", "Favorites". So just click on the TAB you want once you launch the Dialer Icon.
