mine in endless loop
dannyfa,
If it were mine I would try removing the battery for a couple of minutes. Then reinstall the battery and restart the phone.

YES Mine was doing the same thing. Now it has shut itself OFF & I CAN NOT turn it back on .
I did take the battery out to see if that would help (may have made it worse).....but it was in that endless cycle for 5+ HOURS.
NOT a happy Verizon customer right now.
This is the ONLY phone I have...so I can't even call them to ask about what's going on
they are sending me a new one.
call verizon
8009220204
they're expediting it and not charging for shipping

And this is why I don't blame them for pacing the rollouts of the OTA update. Stuff happens sometimes.
I'd rather they have a few unfortunate events like this paced out over several days instead of hundreds of people having their phones bricked simultaneously and getting either a busy signal, a 45 minute wait on hold to talk to someone or apologies about not being able to send a replacement for three weeks while their spares stock is replenished.
dannyfa & seaman & Parrori1,
Danny...if you are getting a new phone why not try this. Seaman and Parrori1 too.
It worked for someone else in another forum when his was looping but he called VZ and they walked him through a Factory Reset which fixed the problem...no more looping.
Also, if your phone has been a good one until now you might want to keep it, especially if you get it working again, because VZ will send you a returned broken phone upon which they did a factory reset.
Do a full factory reset. BTW, another reason to do this is security so your personal info is gone from the phone when you send it back.
Please let me know if you do this because I'm betting that you will find Gingerbread 2.3.6 is completely installed on the phone and the looping started after the phone did its final restart after the install was completed..
If you cannot get the factory reset to start up remove everything from the phone...the battery, the SD card, and the SIM card. Then reinstall the SD card, SIM card, and the battery and then press the hold the button in until you see the word SAMSUNG to start up the phone.
If this fails call VZ and see if they can do a factory reset.
Anyhow it gives you something to do that you would have preferred not to do.
Best regards,
mine didnt even make it pass the restart screen and just froze. I cant even do a factory restore cus it is now freezing on the downloading page. Are you having any luck?
Everything looks OK on startup but, it seams the Droid Eye sticks around much longer now (~30 seconds). Boy, that eye has always creaped me out! It's almost like Verizon is looking back at me while the phone is starting up ... Checking me out! Is there any way to turn the eye off?
Try this...Remove battery, remove SIM card, and remove SD card.
Wait 2-3 minutes, all the time hugging your phone, and then re-install the SD card, the SIM card, and then the battery.
Not sure but hope this helps. It cannot hurt.
PS, I really hate it when the VZ folks immediately say...Factory Reset.
Did you ever find a way to get your phone to start working? Ive tried to do everything in the book and still isnt working. its basically a brick with a samsung logo until the battery dies and has been like this for 4 days now...
