I want to be pushed that update for Bionic sw 5.9.901. My local Verizon Store said that I should receive it. Is there anyway i can be pushed that update
menu>settings>about phone>check for software updates... crap, not sure if those two steps are right, its in there somewhere. If that doesn't work, all you can do is wait.
The update hasn't been pushed out to everybody yet. Not sure what the hold up is because it fixes all the radio 3g/4g data issues everyone is having. I happen to be running it and loving it rumor is it will get pushed to everyone soon. So it's the waiting game, but I think it is going to be worth it.
Is this some new update after Verizon released version 5.5.893 couple of weeks back through offical OTA? More details please.

it'll get there when it gets there. the droid x update came out ota in july & some folks have only recently received it.
The hold up is that .901 doesn't fix the 3g/4g issues for everyone, only some. The are still tweaking
it out. Hopefully it will hit soak tests soon but it will no longer be .901
I actually called last night about my DROID Bionic and some of the issues that it started to have over the last week. Verizon informed me that the new upgrade 5.9.901 would be available today to Verizon customers...however, when i go and check for software upgrades, it states that there is none. I do not know if this is just Verizon's way of pushing people off the phone when there is an issue with the phone that they do not know how to fix or what. I am going to give it another day or so and then call back to Verizon if there is still no updates available.

Here's what's really going on.
The 901 update was leaked out over a month ago. It fixes a lot of
problems, I'm running it now,
however I will still get random drops of data. It will hand off to 3g
better and recover better but
there are still issues.
There is a soak test of an update coming out this Friday. It will be
tested over the weekend and if
all goes well the masses will see it starting Monday. We do not know if
it will indeed be the 901
that was leaked or a more updated version of it. There truly is an
update coming out in the
next week though and hopefully it will solve more of the issues this
phone suffers from.

No. I asked them that last night and they said that i just had to wait for it.
I installed mine from the leak. You can put it on your external sd card
and boot to
recovery then install. Been using mine on 901 for quite some time now.

I can send you a link etc. however at this point I'd hold off for a few
days and get the OTA.
You can go to the motorola site and sign up to be included in the soak
test also.

Thank you for the information.
My issues that i have are not with data...its to do with my Bluetooth not staying connected and turning itself off and my wi-fi not staying connected to any routers. My issues just started about a week ago and it is really frustrating. Verizon told me, well your phone may need to be updated tomorrow when the new software comes out...i argued with them because if it was a software issue, then the problems would have started before now. I am at the point where i am going to start using my BlackBerry Bold again.
I am going to wait to see if my phone updates and then go from there.

My bluetooth would disconnect on my car all the time. The new update works
really well for that now. Is your current software the .893? There was
one update
already for the bionic software that addressed camera issues etc. I have
not had
any random reboots and wifi stays connected all the time on the new 901
software.
The soak test has already taken place. You should be hearing something soon on the general release.
Yep, I was on it. It's now the 902 update. Completed the post soak survey last evening.
