Droid VS O2

So i got an imagio and then returned for a droid and now playing around with the O2.

well droid is cool and great and speedy but its missing a lot of functionality features compared to the windows.. well heck thats the reason its fast. O2 is great device and beats droid in hardware hands down, winmo eats memory and hence its tiny laggy but camera is way better than droid and so is video quality and editing feature is built in and i could go on and on..

here is the reality droid have potential but not there yet its missing too many basic features... altough they have apps for most but those are apps and there are more than one for one functions so its hard to decide which one to pic and quiet honestly i dont have the time to pic.. so droid people should really thing hard and add those functionalities to ther os and not so querky about the open platform.. or just pick the best ones and get thier license and configure in os to make it easy for users and if some one needs something different ofcourse they have apps for that.

so final decision after playin with the O2 its the one. so will am going to Drop the Droid. sorry but better luck next time.

Actually, I'm doing just the opposite. I have had the Droid since launch and I picked up the O2 on Thursday. I have done a side by side comparison of the two. Honestly, you can't go wrong with either one. If you could somehow melt the best parts of the each one together, you'd have something very near to that "perfect phone". That said, out of the box, the O2 is not so great. If you want it smooth and fast, you have to change the default UI, that's easy enough though.

I decided to keep the Droid and return the O2 for several reasons, one of which is the "potential" that you mentioned. We'll see how it goes.

I had waited for the O2 for months when the Droid came out. I was very skeptical at first, but have been quite impressed. Sure it has some issues, but I'd say for a first gen device, it's pretty darn good.

I usually don't post on weekends (Working and posting at the same time takes too much energy during the week :smileytongue: ), but this certainly piqued my interest.

In my opinion, I can't stand the O2, the UI, or the pressure sensitive screen. I just find it has such an archaic design to it. I don't like the way that it just works. To each their own.

Just a quick question, what basic functionalities are you talking about that you can't find in an app on the market?

The main selling feature of the Omnia is the Amoled screen, take that away and all you have left is a buggy, resistive, blue screen of death battery hog.

I guess it's not all that bad...I just like the Droid better this is why my O2 is going back Monday. The O2 web browser is terrible, no matter what v. of Opera you use.
