Alarm Clock Wont work after upgrade

Everything was fine and then I did a phone software upgrade.

Now the widget that does the time and weather has been giving me issues.

I can no longer click on the time and access the alarm clock and clock features.

Also on the same widget, it comes up a lot that it cant get the data and I have to click on it to update it.

I dont know how to install or reinstall the widget or redo the update or what to do.

I miss having an alarm clock and how easy the weather thing just updated on its own.

I'm not sure if the update did everyone this way or just me.

I am to the point to believe that HTC devices users should follow the same suggestion I made with other devices when dealing with updates.....

If the device has been heavily customized users should consider backing up and hard resetting before doing updates because I really believe that some changes to devices due to software restricts the updates from updating all files needed when doing a software update and this leaves data from old OS that causes issues. Since you seem to be having issues in several items I would backup and hard reset to resolve issue.

On my Droid X sometimes you can wipe system cache to help with this but it appears HTC doesn't have this option, try this first and see if this helps....1-click cleaner - https://market.android.com/details?id=cn.com.opda.android.clearmaster&feature=search_result

So is everyone having this issues or did I get a bad upgrade or something went wrong when upgrading?

Should I do the upgrade again after resetting everything?

You do not have to update again because the new OS has replaced the stock image on device, now any time the device is reset it will reload the latest installed OS..

The issue appears to be that some files required for some items on device has been changed or moved to new location for optimizing reasons and this can cause issues with apps that depended on these files to function..

Reset Process...

Preferred Method

From a home screen, select the applications tab (located in the lower left).
Select Settings.
Select SD & phone storage.
Select Factory data reset.
Select Reset phone.
Select Erase Everything.
Perform Initial Activation / Setup.

Alternate Method

Press the Power button for 3 - 5 seconds.
Select Power off.
If the device isn't responding proceed with step 3.
Remove / replace the battery.
Press and hold the Volume down key then press and hold the Power button for 3 to 5 seconds.
When the HBOOT screen appears, release the Volume down key.
Press the Volume key to select FACTORY RESET then press the Power button.
This boot process takes several moments. If the device hangs or freezes, remove / replace the battery.
Perform Initial Activation / Setup.

This is a known issue. There is a long running thread on this problem if you search this forum. HTC is aware of the problem and supposedly is working on it. So my suggestion is don't bother with resetting your phone. Just wait for next update. In the meantime, go to Android market and download a free alarm clock. At least that's what I am doing.

I am also having this problem.

This is discussed elsewhere so I will not elaborate more, but please contact me if/when a solution besides factory reset is found.

Markingriffin, thanks for your inquiry. This issue has been reported as a known issue and our product team is working on a resolution. There is no way to completely uninstall the widget, but you can delete the widget, by tapping and holding the icon and then dragging to the delete icon at the bottom of the screen. Then just tap and hold the screen where you want it to be and then choose add Widget, Clock. Choose which clock you prefer.

Some other things to try are clearing the cache from the clock widget by going to Settings>Applications>Manage Applications>All>Clock>Clear data/cache. Do the same thing for the Clock Widget. You can also use the search widget on the phone to search for Clock, to see if it opens that way.
