Texting Canada?

I know it's been asked before, but I want to make super sure that it's true so I won't have to deal with the charges.

My best friend moved to Canada a couple months ago. I refrained from texting her, because I was afraid I would get hit with International texting. But I've been looking around, and I was reading that Canada would technically be domestic texting. Which is great, cause I have unlimited texting on this plan with my mom. Is that true?

If it means anything, the area code i'll be texting is 416/647 (Toronto)

When in the US and messaging a Canadian number, the messaging is considered domestic, so messages go against your messaging bundle. Since you mentioned that you have unlimited messaging, Budone is correct; feel free to use the messaging with Canadian numbers, since they are considered domestic.

If you are within the US and want to call your friend, the calls do not go against your calling plan, and are $0.49 per minute. However, we offer an International Value Plan that is $3.99 per month and reduces the per-minute rate from $0.49 to $0.09 to call Canadian landline and wireless numbers. This may be an option for you if you would also like to call your friend, since they recently moved to Canada.

When you text a Canadian number, the text to and from that number come out of your texting bucket limit. If you have unlinited texting, text away!

It shows on the link that you posted Canada is 20 cents a message sent or received to a international number.

That is if the OP is IN Canada wanting to send or receive texts. If done from the US to Canada, then it follows whatever messaging plan they have.
