Sending pics from email to phone: Is there a data charge?

I sent 2 small pictures today in an attachment from my email address to my phone. I noticed afterward that my phone now says I have used 58kb of data. I have messaging on my plan but not data.

As far as I can tell picture messages are included in the messaging part of my plan, but since I sent it from my email will it cause me to have an extra data charge on my bill because the pics were sent in an attachment?

I've got a pretty basic phone: Samsung Gusto U360. OK--my answers remain the same - a picture message, send to your 10-digit#@vzwpix.com is counted as text. Enjoy!

Did you send the pics to 10Digitph#@vzwpix.com? Did they arrive as a text message to your phone?

Where are you seeing the data usage? Your MyVerizon account? On the phone? The phpne may see it as "data", but on your bill it will be a text message.

What phone do you have?
