Are you using your Google calendar or something else?

the stock google calendar that should already be on your phone will do this.

I am using my stocked calender on my phone. But I doesn't remind me birthdays or anything.

I know that I created a "contact's birthday calendar" in my Google account that pulls the birthday information and then notifys me of the dates on my phone.
