text blocking

Hello ,

I am wanting to know if it is possible to block a person in my contacts list from sending me text? I am wanting to keep this person in my contacts but I am not wanting to receive any text from them. I am not wanting to hurt this persons feeling so I was hoping there was a way of just blocking the text that they send me.

To block a person from texting you, you will have to add a service to your plan. Its $4.99 a month and called Verizon Safeguards.

Aside from paying $4.99 for the usage controls you can call VZW directly and ask for Call & Message blocking and give them the 10digit number and it will be blocked. Granted it will be for text AND calls, but it's FREE. ...and it's only good for 90days after which you have to request it to be re-added. Weird, I know.
