Bionic to Laptop via Mobile Hotspot

I activated Mobile WiFi Hotspot earlier today. I am can enable Mobile Hotspot on the phone and see the WiFi network on my laptop. I connect to the network, provide access key.. On laptop, its says its connected but with "limited access". I check and am not online (browser & Outlook disconnected). When I check the Hotspot app on the phone, under connected deveices it shows my the MAC id of my laptop and IP address of 0.0.0.0, The phone is in 4G mode and speedy. Any ideas?

Could be happening if ur phone is dark like standby!! It did that on the thunderbolt another 4g phone. See if its better lit up.. Could be if ur inactive so long. Put it on always on.

Same issues. Turns out MHS is spotty at best. Some days works, some days doesn't. Same is holding true for USB Tether. Are there any guides for USB tether for Win 7 x64? Or ideas? I've looked to no avail. Also, cannot find on my computer where the USB tether would show it is connected. Suggestions?

It appears USB tether is extremely fast vs MHS 20_gb vs 7gb downloads, when working of course. I would love to have USB tether set up working and reliable.

I understand how frustrating it must be not being able to take full advantage of your phone's Hotspot feature. Manually entering the computer's MAC address has resolved this issue for other customers. Please try the following:

Tap Menu.

Tap Settings.

Tap Wireless & Networks.

Tap Tethering & Mobile Hotspot.

Tap Mobile Hotspot Settings.

Tap Manage Devices.

Tap Manage Allowed Devices.

Allow All Devices is normally checked.

Uncheck All Devices (if able to uncheck).

Tap Add allowed device.

Enter Mac Address for computer (will be different for each computer).

Obtain MAC following this path: Start>Run then type getmac and click OK. MAC will be listed as Physical Address.

I trust that manually adding your computers MAC Address will resolve your connectivity issues. Please keep us posted.

If you go to network connections, you should see it there. Mine came up as port 3 but it could be any port. Once you click on it, there is an option to give the little comp screen indicator that appears down in the tray. I will check tomorrow and give a more detailed fix if needed.

I had the same problem with windows 7. I had to change the IP address to 192.168.22.2 I read it on google. I cant explain why or how but this worked. It did give me a bit of a problem tho, it would say identifying. I let it sit there for a few minutes then it worked. After it worked it has been working flawless. Just be careful not to go over the limit because 4g is CRAZY FAST.(If you are in a 4g area).
