phone book download to cars problem

We bought two new Motorola Phones, Nov 11, 2011. (My wife: Droid Bionic; Me: Droid Razr). We have Verizon. Both Phones Bluetooth connect ok with the systems of both of our cars: 2009 BMW 328i and 2011 Prius. But we cannot get the phone books to download into either car. What should we do to get this accomplished?

I had the same problem with my Ford. Check the car settings, be sure its set it to automatically download the phonebook. I had to do this when I got my Droid 1, and then again with the upgrade to the Razr.

The phone will also get a msg in the notification area that a phonebook request is being made - you have to OK that.
